Introduction to Roleplaying

So you don't know how to roleplay? Well here's the guide for those of you who are new to roleplaying.

1. What is roleplaying?

Roleplaying is almost like writing a story. Except your not the only author in this story. In roleplaying someone makes the introduction to a story and then someone else makes a character so then you get to the point where someone makes a post like

Nick sat in his chair in class, tapping his pencil on his desk, waiting for the bell to ring.

Then the next person answers

Marissa glared at Nick before whispering to him "Stop that!"

And so on.

2. Where to Start

Well first of all you have to find a roleplay that looks interesting. Then you read the introduction, rules, and whatever else is on the front page.

After you have done that you find something on the front page called a Bio Format. This is a form you fill out about your character. Here is an example Bio format.

Name:
Age:
Appearance:
Personality:
Power(s):
Weapons:
Armor/Clothing:
Pets:
Dorm Number:
Roommate: (if you have one):
Pets:
Other:

So I would take this and fill it out. Every roleplay has a slightly different bio format. So here's an example of how I would fill it out.

Name: Marissa
Age: 19
Appearance: Long red hair, brown eyes, six feet four inches tall, always smiling.
Personality: Very nice and never gets mad.
Power(s): None
Weapons: None
Armor/Clothing: Changes from day to day
Pets: A black cat name Onyx
Dorm Number: 175
Roommate: (if you have one): None
Other: None for now

Of course you'd use more detail and then you'd post this for the owner to read and approve of. Do not post anything else until the owner has accepted you.
